Engineering reference

## One source of truth for the EXI family.

The full EXI specification and model comparison are published here as readable tables, with the manufacturer’s PDF as the controlling project document.

The EXI is Maes Lighting’s flagship explosion proof linear platform for demanding hazardous environments. The family covers 2-foot and 4-foot fixture formats, five documented output packages and wide-voltage driver options.

Selection starts with the facility’s official classification. Match class, division, gas or dust groups, temperature code, ingress, impact, marine requirements and ambient conditions before choosing length, wattage, optic, lens and mounting.

Specification sequence

## Specify from the hazard outward.

First confirm the official area classification, groups and temperature code. Then review ambient temperature, ingress, impact and marine conditions. Only after those filters are confirmed should the project team choose the I2 or I4 format, wattage, voltage range, optic, glass configuration and mounting.

### Ordering-code notes from the sheet

- I2 and I4 identify the documented product codes for the two fixture formats.
- D40, D60, D90 and D120 identify 40°, 60°, 90° and 120° beam options.
- The sheet identifies flat and spherical glass choices; confirm the required suffix on the quote.

Common questions

## Useful answers before the next step.

These answers clarify the selection process without replacing project-specific documentation.

**Which EXI configurations are documented?**

The EXI ordering table lists 20 W, 40 W and 60 W configurations in the 2-foot I2 format, plus 80 W and 120 W configurations in the 4-foot I4 format.

**Do all EXI configurations use the same voltage and optic choices?**

The family offers 100–277 V or 200–480 V input and 40°, 60°, 90° or 120° beam codes. Confirm the exact ordered configuration against the current specification sheet.

**What should an engineer provide for EXI selection?**

Provide the official class, division and groups; required temperature code; ambient range; voltage; mounting; target light levels; optic preference and any marine or ingress requirements.
