Engineering reference

## Selecting within the LS-ESBV family.

Pole position relative to the lot decides the distribution: Type III for perimeter poles, Type V for poles inside the area. Then pole height and spacing set the wattage. The documented BUG rating matters where the site is subject to trespass or dark-sky constraints.

Area lighting is a distribution problem before it is an output problem. Type III throws forward from a pole at the edge of a lot; Type V spreads symmetrically from a pole within it. Choosing the wrong one wastes light off-site and leaves gaps on the surface, which more wattage does not fix.

Controlled document

## LS-ESBV specification sheet

The manufacturer's specification sheet remains the controlling project document.

Common questions

## Useful answers before the next step.

These answers clarify the selection process without replacing project-specific documentation.

**Which distribution suits a parking lot?**

It depends on pole placement. Type III projects forward and suits poles at the lot edge; Type V distributes symmetrically and suits poles within the lot. Confirm the layout before selecting.

**What is the BUG rating for?**

Backlight, uplight and glare. This family carries a B3-U0-G3 rating, which matters where the site is subject to light trespass or dark-sky requirements — U0 means no uplight at all.
