Engineering reference
Choosing the right IR7 configuration.
Work out the required level, divide by what one strip delivers, and select the strip count. Because the housing is common across the range, mounting and conduit detailing does not change with wattage — which is the practical reason to standardise on this family in a large Division 2 area.
IR7 scales by strip count: two strips at 80 W through six at 240 W, each strip contributing the same 40 W and proportional output. That makes output predictable across the range and keeps one housing and one mounting detail across a whole facility.
Common questions
Frequently asked questions
These answers clarify the selection process without replacing project-specific documentation.
How does the wattage ladder work?
By strip count. The table documents 2, 3, 4 and 6 strips at 40 W each, giving 80 W, 120 W, 160 W and 240 W at 8,800 to 26,400 lumens.
Is output proportional to strip count?
The documented figures scale directly — 8,800 lumens at two strips through 26,400 at six. Confirm the exact figure for the configuration ordered.
