Food grade LED lighting built for daily washdown.

NSF listed fixtures for sanitary production areas, cold rooms and freezers, specified around the cleaning process rather than the lumen figure. High bays cover tall production space; vapor tights cover wet rooms and line-side tasks.

At a glance

Compare food grade families by area and cleaning method.

Form factor and ingress rating matter more than raw output here — the fixture has to survive the sanitation cycle first.

NSF listing and IP rating are separate claims. Confirm both against the exact catalog number, and confirm the listing covers the specific area your sanitation plan requires.

Specification path

Specify around the cleaning process, not the ceiling height.

Water and detergent find their way into housings that were never rated for the pressure and temperature used on a real production line. Confirm the washdown pressure and chemistry, the required NSF listing, the material expectations of the approving team, and the ambient range including freezer operation before comparing output.

An IP66 fixture is not an IP69K fixture. High pressure, high temperature washdown is a materially different test.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

These answers clarify the selection process without replacing project-specific documentation.

What is the difference between IP66 and IP69K for a food plant?

IP66 covers powerful water jets. IP69K adds high pressure and high temperature close-range washdown, which is what a daily sanitation cycle applies. Confirm which one your process actually requires.

Which families suit cold storage and freezers?

The XSY-HBDU family is documented for cold storage and freezer duty with a low-temperature operating range. Confirm the exact rating against the specification sheet for the ordered configuration.

Why do some families also appear under vapor tight?

Several food grade vapor tight families serve both sanitary and general wet-location work. They are listed in both categories, and each family's complete specification lives on its own product page.
