UFO and linear high bay LED for tall industrial space.

Overhead illumination for warehouses, manufacturing floors and distribution space. UFO high bays cover open floor efficiently; linear high bays put light down aisles and along production lines.

At a glance

Compare high bay families by format, output and optics.

Format is the first decision — UFO for open floor, linear for aisles — and optics follow from mounting height.

Efficacy figures are family-level. Confirm the lumen output and efficacy of the exact wattage and optic ordered, since both vary within a family.

Specification path

Start with the aisle layout, then size the output.

Open floor and racked aisles want different distributions at the same mounting height. Confirm the layout and target light levels, then the mounting height and structure, then voltage — the 347 to 480 V options matter on larger industrial services — and finally controls, dimming and any sensor requirement.

A wide UFO distribution over racking wastes light on the tops of shelves. Aisles usually want a linear optic.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

These answers clarify the selection process without replacing project-specific documentation.

When should I choose a linear high bay over a UFO?

Linear high bays suit racked aisles and long production lines where light needs to run along a path. UFO high bays suit open floor and large uninterrupted areas. The at-a-glance table above lists the documented format for each family.

Which families offer an ingress rating?

The FYT family is documented at IP65 and the EDGE high bay family at IP66, with K5 documented at IP54. Confirm the rating for the exact configuration ordered.

Do any high bay families suit cold storage or high heat?

Two are shared with other categories: a food grade high bay for cold storage and washdown, and RT-HPH for elevated ambients. Their full specifications live on the food processing and high temperature pages respectively.
