Engineering reference
Selecting within the CIT2 family.
Confirm the exposure first: wet, washdown or corrosive, and whether cleaning is manual or high pressure. Then choose the length and wattage, then the optic. A silver reflector concentrates output downward where a frosted lens spreads it, which is the difference between an aisle and a general area.
CIT2 is the general-purpose vapor tight in the range. Three optic choices — frosted, polycarbonate and silver reflector — change the distribution substantially in the same housing, so the lens is as much a specification decision as the wattage.
Common questions
Useful answers before the next step.
These answers clarify the selection process without replacing project-specific documentation.
What operating temperature is documented?
The manufacturer does not publish a blanket operating range for this family — the ambient is confirmed per application. Check your conditions against the current specification sheet rather than assuming a range.
How do the three optics differ?
The table lists frosted, polycarbonate and silver reflector. The reflector concentrates output downward, the frosted lens diffuses it more widely. Choose against the task and mounting height rather than defaulting.
Does CIT2 carry an NSF listing?
NSF options are documented for this family, which is why it also appears under food processing. Confirm the listing applies to the exact configuration ordered.
